Pickens Music& Art Fest – April 27, 2024
The Spring festival is currently being coordinated by host, Pickens Community Thrift Store. The festival, dubbed Pickens Music & Arts Fest, will be held in the front lot of CTS on April 27th from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. All proceeds from the event sales will be donated to Pickens County Recreation Services to be used for park bench seating near new and existing playground areas.
Registrations are now being accepted for the musical competition which will include both instrumental and vocal selections of most all genres. We ask that lyrics be family friendly as this is an event for all ages. Competitors will be judged with cash prizes of $300, $200, and $100 for winners. There is no entry fee.
Contestants should be prepared to perform up to 3 songs, depending on number of entries. Scoring will be based on instrumental or vocal qualities, stage presence, and crowd appeal. So bring your friends to cheer you on!
Register online by going to pickenscommunitythriftstore.org and click on the festival link. Please submit video of your performance to cts30143@gmail.com. This can be a cellphone video. Contestants will be contacted if selected.
In addition to the music competition, the festival will feature a large art sale of beautiful framed art. Shoppers will enjoy free beverages and cheese while making their selections.
Other areas of interest in the festival include a kid’s zone filled with fun activities and pony rides, free hot dogs and drinks, and many nonprofit groups offering valuable information to the community.
